Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a receiving sheet giving a clear electrophotographic color image by single exposure and development by forming a layer contg. an electron accepting substance on base paper and further forming a charge retaining layer contg. particles of a transparent or translucent org. polymer to capture a colorless sublimable dye. CONSTITUTION:Activated clay or a phenolic substance such as bisphenol-A or salicylic acid capable of developing a colorless sublimable dye is dispersed in a binder such as polyvinyl alcohol to form layer 2 on fine paper 1, and insulator layer 4 is formed on layer 2 by applying an acrylic emulsion prepared by dispersing particles 3 having 2-20mu particle size consisting of transparent or translucent polyolefin with <=5 intrinsic viscosity and 1-50pts.wt. COOH-contg. polyolefin with 30-150 acid value together with colloidal silica. Thus, a receiving sheet is obtd. Layer 4 of this sheet is uniformly charged, and after sticking photoconductive particles contg. a colorless heat-sublimable dye, layer 4 is imagewise exposed. By applying vibration to layer 4, electrostatically unstuck particles are removed, and layer 4 is uniformly exposed and heated to allow the dye to color by absorption in layer 2. The stuck particles are then removed to obtain a clear color image.
