Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the sealing performance of a butterfly valve which is adapted in a transportation path of a fluid such as flue gas or the like, by avoiding seizure of its bearing portion and restraining its distorted deformation by fluid pressures while supplying grease to bearing members.
CONSTITUTION: Grand packing portions 9, 9 are divided longitudinally along a valve rod 1 so that bearing member 10 is fixedly interposed respectively between divided grand packing portions 9a, 9b and heap metals 11 are disposed adjacent to the bearing members 10, 10 at locations where bearing members 10, 10 are in slidable contact with the valve rod 1 and also adjacent to their corresponding portions on the rod 1 and a grease supplying path R2 is communicated through a cylindrical portion 3 of the valve housing 2 by providing a through-hole 3a, thereby grease is supplied to the slidable contact portion between the valve rod 1 and the bearing member 10 via annular grooves 12, 13 which are provided on the outer and inner surfaces of the bearing member 10 and their common through-hole 14. In such a manner, the sealing performance is raised by restraining abraision of the bearing portion and minimizing distorted deformation of the valve rod so as to improve the sealing performance during the complete closure of the valve.
