Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable an efficient molding and to protect against deterioration due to excessive overheat, by a method wherein embossed plates heated by a heat plate are brought into contact with both outer surfaces of two fiber plates, the one of which is superposed on the other, for molding by thermal pressure.
CONSTITUTION: Embossing plates heated by a heat plate are brought into contact with both outer surfaces of two fiber plates, which are put together in such a manner as lays the one sheet on a top of the other, for molding by thermal pressure, and embossed patterns are simultaneously formed on the respective outer surfaces of the two fiber plates so superposed. For example, a wet mat made of a woody pulp is clamped by thermal pressure between heat plates of a hot press to form a fiber sheet, and the two fiber plates are superposed. The two fiber plates so superposed are placed between an upper and a lower heat plate at each stage of a multistage thermal pressure molding press, and the embossing plates heated by the heat plate are brought into contact with the two outer surfaces of the upper and the lower fiber sheet so put together. The resultant fiber plates are molded by heating and pressurizing at 230°C, and 100kg/cm2 for 10sec to simultaneously form the embossed patterns on the respective outer surface of the two fiber plates.
