Abstract
PURPOSE: To produce a titled cover of an accurate circular box shape by curving and forming an annular rib to the suitable position of a circular blank of plate, then forming multiple bent parts of a Z shape in section by the folds extending from the rib to the circumferential edge of the blank plate and pressing said bent parts.
CONSTITUTION: An annular rib 2 of a channel shape in section is curved and formed to a blank plate 1 consisting of a circular steel plate formed of a cylindrical part 84 in the central part by pressing. Next, a multiplicity of bent parts 6 of an approximately Z shape in section by a pair of folds 4, 5 extending from the rib 2 to the circumferential edge of the blank plate 1 in a manner as to expand in a V shape are formed to the annular plate 3 between said annular rib 2 and the circumferential edge of the plate 1, leaving spacings in the circumferential direction of the plate 3. Next, the parts 6 are successively pressed to form a cylindrical part 7. In this way, the cover made of the metallic plate of a circular box shape is easily curved and produced without any seam from one sheet of the metallic plate.
