Abstract

PURPOSE:To raise the quality of printing by regulating the value of voltage applied to the same control electrodes in a recording head driving system in which voltage is selectively applied to plural recording and control electrodes. CONSTITUTION:Recording electrodes Mj (j is 1-2n) divided into blocks Bi (i is 1-n) are further divided into group MA and group MB. They are faced recording electrodes Sk [k is 1-(2n+1)], as shown by Fig. A. Voltage is applied between the group MA and control electrodes (S1+S2) to record the left half of Bi, voltage is applied between the group MB and control electrodes (S2+S3) to record the right half of B1, and these operations are conducted while orderly biasing toward the right side to perform the printing of all sections. Thus, since voltage is applied twice continuously to each of the control electrodes Sk, as shown by Fig. B, but voltage generated in the low-resistance layer of recording body is smaller, as shown by Fig. C, on the second application, to counter the problem, the value of voltage applied for the first time to Sk is made smaller than that of the second application, as shown by Fig. D, to equalize the voltage generated in the low-resistance layer for both cases, as shown by Fig. E.
