Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform phase synchronization with an extremely wide frequency lead- in range by including a counting circuit which determines the frequency division rate where an input signal and a signal to be controlled can be phase-synchronized and divides the frequency of the output signal of a main oscillating circuit at the determined frequency division rate. CONSTITUTION:AND circuit 27 performs AND among the 1st output of phase comparator 25, the output signal of phase detecting circuit 26 and the output of main oscillating circuit 31. On the other hand, AND circuit 28 ANDs the 2nd output, complementary to the 1st output of comparator 25, with the output of circuit 31. Then, a pulse train proportional to the phase difference between a signal to be controlled and an input signal which is the output signal of circuit 27 or 28 is counted by counting circuit 29. Further, counting circuit 30 is included which determines the frequency division ratio where the input signal and the signal to be controlled can be phase-synchronized on the basis of the output of circuit 29 and then divides the frequency of the output signal of circuit 31 at the determined frequency division rate, leading the output signal of circuit 30 to output terminal 34. Consequently, phase correction proportional to the phase difference is made to perform phase synchronization with an extremely wide frequency lead-in range.
