Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent broadcast reception state by suppressing a decrease in sound volume due to high-cut operation when performing the high-cut operation by detecting the lowering of an electric field level or the generation of echo distortion during reception. CONSTITUTION:If the lowering of an electric field level or the generation of echo distortion occurs during FM broadcast reception, that is detected by high-cut control circuit 8 and high-cut circuit 9 operates to attenuate the high-frequency signal level of the detection output of FM detector 4 according to the lowering of the electric field or the magnitude of the distortion, thereby attenuating a noise component included in the high frequency range. The output of circuit 8, on other hand, puts sound volume control circuit 10 in operation to energize relay coil 11, thereby changing over its contact 12. Consequently, the FM detection output attenuated by a resistance is inputted directly to stereo demodulator 5 without passing through resistance R, so that signal level is increased on the whole to obtain an excellent reception state.
