Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce titled composition which will give molded products superior in strength, impact resistance and durability and suitable in producing automobile parts, etc., by using a urethanated unsaturated polyester resin as the main constituent and incorporating therein a thicknener, a reinforcing material and a hardening catalyst.
CONSTITUTION: Object thermosetting molding composition is produced by mixing (A) resin consisting of a polymerizable monomer (e.g., styrene, vinyl toluene) in which is dissolved or mixed a urethanated unsaturated polyester obtained by the reaction of an unsaturated polyster with an isocyanate compound, (B) mixture of a polyisocyanate (e.g., polymethylene polyphenyl isocyanate) and/or polyepoxide (e.g., bisphenol-A/epichlorohydrin addition product) with a hardening agent for epoxides, (C) reinforcing material, such as glass fiber and (D) hardening catalyst (e.g., dicumyl peroxide) for the constituent A.
