Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a blowing agent having excellent storage stability and excellent miscibility with synthetic resins, by a method in which an inorganic blowing composition is packed into the pores of inorganic porous granules and then a resin is coated on the surfaces of the porous granules.
CONSTITUTION: A blowing agent, obtained by mixing an expansible inorganic material capable of forming expanded inorganic layer at high temperatures (e.g., borates, silicates, etc.), a nonexpansible inorganic material (e.g., calcium carbonate, gypsum, etc.), and an adhesive (e.g., starch, gelatine, etc.), is packed into the pores of inorganic porous granules (e.g., pearlite particles, Shirasu balloon, etc.), and then a resin (e.g., asphalt, paraffin, etc.) is coated on the surface of the inorganic porous granules to obtain an objective blowing agent.
