Abstract
PURPOSE: The titled joint treating material capable of giving sufficient bonding strength and good finish appearance, and easily applicable, which is obtd. by burying an electrically conductive material in a hot-melt adhesive.
CONSTITUTION: Electrically conductive material 2 (e.g., aluminum foil) releasing heat by electric current is buried in a hot-melt adhesive 1 such as polyethylene, ethylene-vinyl chloride resin, polyester or synthetic rubber adhesive, by a method such as extrusion, to obtain the purpose joint treating material 3. For welding a joint between long floor materials using the joint treating material 3, the long floor materials 4 4' are adhered on ground 6 such as mortar apart from each other using adhesive 5 and the joint is filled with the joint treating material 3. The hot-melt adhesive 1 is molten by heat released by conducting electric current through the electrically conductive material 2, and brought into close contact with joint end 7. Then the current is turned off, and the adhesive 1 is cooled and solidified, thus completing joint treatment.
