Abstract

PURPOSE: To effectively heat water by condensing the solar heat onto a light receiving plate in a container using a plurality of condensers supported in a lid for the container, the light receiving plate being capable of heating the water.
CONSTITUTION: A water heater body comprises a container 3 equipped with an inlet 1 and an outlet 2, a lid supporting a plurality of condensers 4, and a horizontally supported light receiving plate 11. The light receiving plate 11 has a lattice work 11a with small diameter discs respectively corresponding to each condenser 4a, 4b. The sunlight is condensed onto discs 11b of the light receiving plate 11 by the condensers 4a to heat the discs 11b intensively so that the water surrounding the discs 11b will be effectively heated. The water adjacent the lattice work 11a is heated by conduction through the discs 11b.
