Abstract

PURPOSE: To speedily and efficiently remove the water adhered to the surfaces of an article by a method wherein the adhered water is removed by an acetone-containing washing liquid, then acetone-containing water separated from the washing liquid is fed into a hot-water tank and the resulting vapor of the washing liquid is condensed, the condensate being returned to a dehydrating zone.
CONSTITUTION: A liquid mixture of trichlorotrifluoroethane and acetone containing 13.5W40wt% of acetone is used as a washing liquid for removing the water adhered to the surface of the article. An evaporating zone Q consisting of the hot-water tank 4 containing hot water is provided separately from the dehydrating zone P. The washing liquid deprived of water at a water-separating tank 3 is introduced continuously or intermittently into a dehydrating tank 2 and the hot-water tank 4 simultaneously or alternately. On the other hand, the acetone-containing water separated out at the water-separating tank 3 is fed into the hot-water tank 4, and the vapor of the washing liquid evaporated in the evaporating zone Q is condensed by a cooler 8, while the condensate is returned into the dehydrating tank 2 in the dehydrating zone P.
