Abstract
PURPOSE: To highly remove BOD, COD, and SS contents from a waste water of high organics content by a method in which a waste water is mixed with treated water while supplying oxygen to the upper stage of a catalytic oxidation tank and then is brought into contact with the upward flow of a catalytic medium from the bottom of the tank.
CONSTITUTION: A waste water containing a large amount of remaining organics is discharged through a quantitative tank 10 into a container 17, mixed with treated water overflowing an overflow wall 29 inside Venturi tube 18, etc., and directed downward inside a pipe 19. During the period, air sucked up from an intake pipe 16 is dispersed into the mixed water and the mixed water with saturated dissolved oxygen reaches the inlet port 22 of the cataltic oxidation tank 30. Then, the mixed water goes up among the catalytic mediums 31 inside the catalytic oxidation tank 30 and comes into contact with microorganisms. The major part of the treated water is directed through the overflow wall 29 into a circulation treatment system, and the other part is flowed through the overflow wall 28 into a tray 32 and discharged through a clarifying tank 35 and a sterilizing tank 47 from an outlet port 33.
