Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve airtight performance under the temperature conditions of repeated heating by a method wherein metallic sponge is fastened on an outer circumference of a ringed core material in metal, and the outer circumference is coated with a thin layer of heat-resistant metal.
CONSTITUTION: A core material 1 similar to a metallic O ring type gasket is formed in a ringed shape, and metallic sponge 2 with proper fixed thickness is fastened on the surface of the core material 1 so as to cover the whole surface of said core material 1. The apparent whole surface of the metallic sponge 2 is coated with metal 3. The core material 1 functions as an elastic material, the metallic sponge 2 as a sealing material and the surface coating 3 as the sealing of the metallic sponge 2.
