Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain developing powder which is superior in shock-proof property, fluidity, and durability and has a low fixing temperature and can make it possible to obtain a clear picture without fogging, by containing binding resin components which are homopolymer of vinyl monomers or their mixture and have a maximum value in a specific molecular weight region.
CONSTITUTION: Materials which are the mixture of one or more kinds of homopolymer or copolymer of vinyl monomers such as styrene and ester of acrylic acid and have one or more maximum values in regions of molecular weight 103W8×104 and 105W2×106 dependent upon gel permeation chromatography respectively are used as the binder of magnetic powder. 30% or more the binder is used for the developing powder weight, and 15W70% magnetic powder is used for the developing powder weight. Then, 0.1W5% the olefin polymer or copolymer such as polyethylene and polypropylene, where the melt viscosity at 140°C is 10W106 cps, for the developing powder weight is contained to improve dispersibility and compatibility of pigment and magnetic powder in developing powder.
