Abstract

PURPOSE: An aqueous dispersion capable of being formed into a film at low temperature, providing a sufficient heat-sealing strength by formation of even a thin film, having improved shelf stability, obtained by blending particles of ethylene copolymer resin with both a partially saponified PVA and a polyethylene-imine.
CONSTITUTION: (A) 100pts.wt. Particles with average particle diameter ≤3μ of etylene-vinyl acetate copolymer resin having a vinyl acetate content 15W40wt%, melt flow ratio ≥ 30g/10min are blended with (B) 2W20pts.wt. partially saponified polyvinyl alcohol having a saponification value (X%) 68W98mol% and a melting point (Tm) satisfying the formula 0.50X+179≥Tm≥1.18X+73, (C) 0.01W 10pts.wt. polyethylene-imine shown by the formula (R1WR3 are H, or CH2CH2 NH2; x and y are integer) having a molecular weight preferably 3,000W100,000, and (D) 30W1,000pts.wt. water. Especially useful for partial coating to provide a biaxially oriented propylene film with heat-sealing characteristics.
