Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve drain of a wire by blasting air through guide holes from inside of surface layer of a hollow guide roll.
CONSTITUTION: A hollow guide roll 1 for a wire is provided with a guide groove 2 which is provided on the bottom with a plurality of air ports 4 communicating to a hollow portion 3. Compressed air is introduced from an air introducing pipe 6 provided on one end of a shaft 5 into the hollow portion 3 and jetted from air ports 4 to scatter water (or solution) attached to filament 11 and the guide roll 1 and dry the filament 11.
