Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to obtain correct stress that operates on a magnetic material by fitting a magnetic sensor to the magnetic material with a minimum gap, by exciting the sensor and then by reading and setting the exciting electric current to an exciting-current setter.
CONSTITUTION: Between connection lines for secondary-output-voltage setter 9 and operational amplifier 10, operational amplifier 22, exciting-current setter 23, gain setter 24 and adding mechanism 31 are provided. Next, magnetic sensor 2 is arranged on a magnetic material surface with a minimum gap and after a set voltage is set to secondary-output-voltage setter 9, primary coil 3 of sensor 2 is excited by electric power source 6. Then, electric current when a secondary voltage induced across secondary coil 4 becomes equal to the set voltage is read by indicator 17 through iron-loss indicator 13 and the electric current and an iron loss are set to electric-current setter 23 and initial-value setter 14 respectively. Consequently, the measurement can be taken without reference to the width of the gap and therefore correct stress that operates on the magnetic material can be found.
