Abstract
PURPOSE: To measure the bearing power of the ground easily and securely at the site by a method wherein a table incorporating a chuck and a counter and used for obtaining the foundation design data of a building structure or the like is tightly fixed to a rod.
CONSTITUTION: A geological surveying machine is placed on the ground in a condition where each weight 15 is unloaded from a slide table 4. The entire weight of the slide table 4 tightly fixed to a rod 26 through a chuck 9, i.e. the weight of the entirety including a driving motor 7, a reduction gear 8, the chuck 9 and the like is loaded on the rod 26, and a screw point 27 penetrates into the ground. Where the ground is so hard that the screw point 27 cannot penetrate into it, one or more pieces of weight 15 are loaded on the slide table 4. Where the screw point 27 cannot penetrate into the ground even after all the pieces of weights 15 are loaded on the slide table 4, the rod 26 is rotated by the chuck 9 to sink the rod 26 into the ground. The number of rotation of the chuck 9 is counted and indicated by a counter 10, and the number of rotation of the rod 26 and the weight loaded on the rod 26 are recorded.
