Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare an incense which can be used comfortably with low smoking and mucous irritation, by using corncob powder as an easily avalable, low-cost combustion-supporting agent.
CONSTITUTION: A mosquito-repelling incense, an incense stick for Buddist altar, etc., containing 1W80wt%, pref. 5W40wt% of a combustion-supporting agent comprising corncob powder. The corncob powder may be used together with conventional combustion-supporting agent such as wood flour. The drawbacks of the conventional agent, i.e. smoking tendency, mucous irritation, acrid smell, etc., can be reduced without affecting the insecticidal activity of the incense.
