Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the flexiblity of the diaphragm type bellows tube and prevent the forming of cracks caused by a concentrated stress by a method wherein some successive bulged portions are made at each of crests and troughs of the diaphragm type bellows tube.
CONSTITUTION: The expandable and shrinkable successive diaphragm type bellows tube 5 is made such that its outer diameter part is formed with some successive arcular bulged portions 1 equally spaced apart to increase its flexibility and its inner diameter part is also formed with similar successive bulged portions 2 under a press molding of the inner and outer dies against a tube made of a thin metal sheet, and further doughnut-shaped flat part 3 is arranged between each of the crest and the trough. Thus, the successive portion 6 may form some large clearances 7 therein and show both arcular sections of the successive bulged parts and a flexibility as well as resiliency, resulting in that no bent section having concentrated stress therein enables a prevention of the crack.
