Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the removing efficiency of the developing solution with simple constitution by providing a blade between a developing devide and an air knife device and disposing the blade with its leading end in proximity to the surface of an image carrying body. CONSTITUTION:A photoreceptor 1 having been formed with a latent image is conveyed in the arrow A direction and the residual developing solution on the surface of the photoreceptor 1 is removed by an excess developing solution removing device 7. This device 7 has an air knife device 8 and a blade 9 disposed between the device 8 and a developing device 2. When the photoreceptor 1 having undergone developing is conveyed in the arrow A direction and comes over the air knife device 8, the surface of the photoreceptor 1 is blown with the air spouted from the gap 13 between the air knife members 12, 12, by which the developing solution remaining on the surface of the photoreceptor 1 is prevented from being carried rightward of the figure than the air knife device 8. The pool 15 of the developing solution created on the left of the device 8 shifts onto the blade 9, flows downward and is captured into a recovery vessel 16.
