Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an acetylsalicylate in high yield and in high purity with preventing its decomposition, by filtrating an ethyl alcohol solution of acetylsalicylic acid and an aqueous solution of basic amino acid previously to remove bacteria, blending both the solutions, followed by precipitating a formed addition salt with ethyl alcohol.
CONSTITUTION: Water is used to dissolve a basic amino acid, e.g., L-lysine, L- arginine, creatinine, etc., and only ethyl alcohol is used to dissolve acetylsalicylic acid. Both the solutions are filtered by using membrane filters (0.2W0.45μ) previously to remove bacteria, and they are blended to form a basic amino acid salt of acetylsalicylic acid, to which ethyl alcohol is added as a precipitating medium. A crystal of addition salt is precipitated, separated, washed with ethyl alcohol, and dried under reduced pressure at not higher than room temperature, preferably at not higher than 10°C, to give the titled compound. An ethyl alcohol concentration of the precipitated solution of the addition salt is in the range of 85W95wt%, preferably 88W93wt%.
