Abstract

PURPOSE: To give a tape invariably constant back tension by providing a supply reel turntable with damping force that corresponds to the turning speed of take- up reel turntable.
CONSTITUTION: Back tension supply mechanism 41 has arm 43 freely rotatable on shaft 42 as shown by arrows F and G. One terminal of arm 43 extends to the outer circumference of take-up reel turntable 34, and the other extends to the flank of head chassis 19 and is supplied with deviation force by spring 44 as shown by arrow H and pressed against the flank of chassis 19 by pin 431. When reproduction operating member 173 is not in operation as shown in the figure, pin 431 is pressed against step part 196 of chassis 19 to push reproduction operating member 173 and when chassis 19 is slid as shown by arrow C, pin 431 intrudes down from step part 196 and arm 43 is turned being pulley by spring 44, so that one terminal of arm 43 will approach take-up reel 34.
