Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform protection by afforestation of all kinds of slope surface effectively, by employing a combination of a preparatory wire nettings, a restraining wire gauze, an afforestation mat and a special mortar.

CONSTITUTION: Slope surface A to be protected is cleaned, preparatory wire nettings or vinyl covered wire gauze 1 is laid and secured by anchoring pins 2 or the like, and a brought earth 3 is sprayed in a uniform thickness on the surface of the vinyl covered wire gauze 1. Then, on the surface of the brought earth 3 is laid a afforestation mat 4 comprising a surface material 4f, plantation seeds 4e, afforestation mat base 4d, wherein afforestation elements 4c, such as fertilizers and plantation seeds are impregnated, a coconut fiber layer 4b and a thermomelting resin impregnated paper sheet 4a. Further, a resraining wire gauze or hexagonal pattern wire gauze 5 is stretched over and temporatrily secured by anchoring pins 2', and finaly a neutralized special mortar 6 is sprayed to cover and bond the afforestation mat 4 and the hexagonal pattern wire gauze 5. In this manner, the surfaces of relatively large and rigid rocks B in addition to other earth portions C and small stones D present on the slope surface A are also protected through the afforestation mat 4.
