Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the drying efficiency by atomizing a liquid body in an ultrasonic environment and drying it.
CONSTITUTION: A gas is introduced into a projection cylinder 51 in the arrow direction A. Said action causes an ultrasonic field between a jet hole 52 bored on the end of the cylinder 51 and a reciever 53, a recess of which is located just below a jet hole 52. Under this condition, a liquid is passed through a guide pipe 54 which passes through the hollow part of the cylinder 51 as shown by the arrow B. Said liquid is guided through an inlet hole 55 bored on the guide pipe 54 between the jet hole 52 and the receiver 53. The liquid is immediately atomized to fine particle form, which is dried by heated gas which is swirlingly introduced into a drying chamber 1 as shown by the arrow C. The process can be applied independently of the viscosity of the liquid to allow the liquid to be finely atomized and distributed, and therefore, said process is excellent in drying efficiency and provides dried product relatively uniform in size.
