Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable double layer painting without the cutting of paper by a simple device by a method wherein travelling paper is painted by means of one painting head while the travelling paper painted by means of another painting head is contacted with a backing roll.
CONSTITUTION: Travelling paper W is contacted with a surface of a backing roll 11 rotating at the same linear velocity and in the same direction as the travelling paper W. The surface of the paper is painted by means of the first painting head consisting of rolls 12, 13, 14 mounted at a location where the travelling paper W is contacted with the backing roll 11. The surface of the paper is painted again by means of the second painting head consisting of a transcribing roll 16 and a vessel 17 while the travelllng paper W being painted is contacted with the backing roll 11. Thus, double layer painting without the cutting of the paper, etc. is enabled by a simple device.
