Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture a highly-electroconductive heat-resisting copper alloy of the same properties as a Cu-Ag alloy at low cost, by effecting the hot or intermediate annealing of a copper alloy comprising a prescribed quantity of B and the rest of Cu, at a temperature of 700°C or more, thereafter quenching the copper alloy and cold-working it.
CONSTITUTION: A copper alloy, which comprises 0.0005W0.01wt% of B and the rest of Cu, is caused to undergo hot working or intermediate annealing at a temperature of 700°C or more. The alloy is then cooled in water. After that, the alloy is cold-worked to a degree of about 90% so that alloy is made into a wire. This results in obtaining the copper alloy material of high electric conductivity and heat resistance.
