Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable to read speeds easily and clearly by digitally indicating the speeds of a motor vehicle as approximate speed values at a preset km unit intervals on an indicator.
CONSTITUTION: The number of revolution of an engine 2 is inputted to an A/D converting tachometer 12 via a clutch 3, a transmission 4 and a wire cable 11, and after converted to the digital value of a speed corresponding to this number of revolution, is digitally indicated on an indicator 14. In this case, the indicator 14 is so constructed as to indicate speeds digitally at a certain speed interval (5km interval in the illustrated example), indicating that the indicated speed of the indicator 14 is 10km when the reading speed of the A/D converting tachometer is 0W 10km, 15km when 10W15km.... The driver can read approximate speeds by 5km units and can check the speed of the vechicle instantaneously and intuitively.
