Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the contactness of the magnetic head to magnetic tape, by providing the plate spring made of phosphor bronze, folded in channel shape which links both ends of two bimorph plates parallel and fixed for the ends to support the head chip. CONSTITUTION:Two bimorph plates 12, 120 are made in parallel with each other, the base inds 12b, 120b are fixed to the head base 13, and the curved piece folding the plate spring 20 made of phosphor bronze is fixed as the elastic material to the tips 12a, 120a. Further, the head holder 22 made of hard material such as bakelite is fixed to the middle part of the plate spring 20, and the head chip 11 is fitted to the head fitting step 22a formed at the right side of the holder 22. Thus, the production of the contact angle error of the gap surface of the head chip 11 to magnetic tape is avoided to increase the contact pressure.
