Abstract
PURPOSE: To increase the separation ability by using the molecular filtering effect, through coating the core material bead of inorganic compound sepcifying particle diameter with activated charcoal.
CONSTITUTION: The thermoplastic resin such as polyacrylnitorile is dissolved into solvent and polyethylene glycol is added and the core material bead of inorganic compound such as silica gel and glass bead 5W500μ in particle diameter is immersed and coated. Next, while flowing inactive gas in the electric furnace, gradually carbonized and the activated charcoal layer is formed on the surface of cored bead. Further, as required, nonpolarized or polarized functional group is introduced to the activated charcoal layer. Thus, the filling agent for high speed liquid chromatography using molecular filtering effect, ion exchange effect, adsorption effect, distribution effect can adsorption and distribution effect, and excellent in compression strength and separation can be obtained. This filling agent is effective for the separation of aromatic hydrocarbon.
