Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare an acylcyanide useful as a pesticide, a highly selective acylating agent, a synthetic intermediate of heterocyclic compounds, etc., in high yield, in a short time, under mild conditions, by cyanogenating an acid halide with a cyano- tin compound.
CONSTITUTION: The preparation of an acylcyanide by the cyanogenation of an acid halide, is carried out by the use of a cyanogenating agent comprising a cyano-tin compound pref. of formula I or II (R1WR3 are organic group or halogen), especially a trialkyltin cyanide. The acid halide is pref. an acid chloride, and the molar ratio of the halogen atom in the acid halide to the cyano group in the cyano-tin compound is 2:1W1:2. The tin halide produced by the reaction is converted to the cyano-tin compound by reacting with an alkali cyanide, etc., and reused. The reaction temperature is usually 0W100°C.
