Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent blister occuring in the process of plating by a method wherein a steel strip immediately after galvanizing is quickly heated in a heating furnace for specified period so that a plated layer is formed into an alloy layer of specified thickness and a zinc layer. CONSTITUTION:Immediately after galvanizing, a hot-rolled steel strip is rapidly heated in a heating furnace for 4-20sec, so that the plated layer is formed into an alloy layer of 3-20mu in thickness and a zinc layer is remained on top of the alloy layer. Said procedure causes Fe-Zn alloy layer to properly develop and to trap occuluded hydrogen in the furnace. For example, a steel strip 1 is passed through a nonoxidizing preheat furnace 2, uniform heating zone and cooling zone 3, is applied with galvanization in a zinc plating tank 4, passed through a gas-wiping 5, and is treated at 450-550 deg.C in a heating furnace 6. During said process of applying galvanization to a hot rolled steel strip, blister occurrence is properly prevented and good adhesive property is maintained.
