Abstract

PURPOSE:To form a communication network which eliminates the need for flow rate control and is flexible in speed, by multiplexing packets at an information speed predetermined on the basis of the information signal of each channel. CONSTITUTION:From respective channels, i.e. input terminals A1, A2...AN, various signals are supplied to corresponding circuits C1, C2...CN, which are connected to multiplex highway H. Packeted input signals are multiplexed, packet by packet, and other input signals are composed in packets by a multiplexer and then multiplexed, packet by packet. With regard to both a continuous signal and burst signal, equivalent speeds are predetermined and highway H has a transmission speed higher than the sum of information speeds of all channels.
