Abstract

PURPOSE: To add diverse color to the display by varying voltage to be applied to liquid crystal adapted to chang in color depending on the leverl of the voltage using, the time indication pointer as one electrode.
CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal 5 adapted to change in color depending on voltage to be applied is sealed with a transparent plate 3, an electrode 6 and a sealing section 7. A voltage controlled to a fixed condition with a applied voltage control section 8 is applied between the electrode 6 and the hand 1 of the watch doubling one electrode so as to develop a color depending on the voltage. With such an arrangement, the display accomplishes a beautiful indication not only by varying the color tone with changes of time but also by enhancing the change in contrast with the gloss of the pointer.
