Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a high coercive force of magnetism in spite of the content of Fe in the permanent magnet is made to be large by a method wherein the range of composition of the permanent magnet consisted of Sm, Co, Cu, Fe and Zr is changed to have the proper ratio between the transition metal elements. CONSTITUTION:The material of permanent magnet is consisted of samarium Sm, cobalt Co, copper Cu, iron Fe and zircominum Zr, and the weight percent of composition is made to be in the range as follows. 22.0<=Sm<24.0, 4.0<=Cu<=10.0, 14.0<=Fe<=35.0, 0.5<=Zr<=5.0, and the rest is made to be Co. After an alloy having the range of composition mantioned above is obtained using a high frequency smelting furnace, the ingot of these alloy is pulverized to make a powder having a prescribed average grading, and the powder is formed by press in a magnetic field to form a magnetically anisotropic substance and the formed substance is treated with a prescribed method to obtain a high coervice force of magnetism in spite of the content of Fe is made to be large.
