Abstract

PURPOSE:To utilize a stationary Scherbius device even in case of starting by a system wherein a transformer having a predetermined step-down ration is connected in parallel with a starting resistor connected to the secondary winding of a winding type induction motor, and the output is fed to a rectifier. CONSTITUTION:An autotransformer 7 with a center tap is mounted in parallel with a starting resistor 5 connectd to the secondary winding of a motor 3, and the center tap is connected to a rectifier 8 while a contactor 9 for operation is inserted between the output of the secondary winding and the center tap. Output from the rectifier 8 is applied to a power inverter 11 through a DC reactor 10, and the output is converted to the power source side through a transformer 12. Thus, the motor 3 can be accelerated by the total of the starting currents of the starting resistor 5 and the primary currents of the autotransformer 7 by increasing an angle of lead of the control of the power inverter 11 by means of an automatic phase shifter 13 when starting, and a separate starter can be unnecessitated.
