Abstract
PURPOSE: To make a desired concave part in a short period of time by a method wherein a load block having a leading end formed to show a spherical surface is rotatably contacted with the inner circumferential surface of a correction ring placed on the top surface of the lap plate with the load block being replaced from its small diameter to its large one.
CONSTITUTION: A correction ring 2 is rotatably supported on a radius of the rotating lap plate 1 around a center of the axis 3. A load block 5 having its outer circumference abutted against the inner circumferential edge of the correction ring 2 and also having a circular surface 4 at its leading end is rotatably supported around a fixed axis 6 of which axial center position can be adjusted. Under this arrangement, at first a groove having the same width as a diameter of the block 5 is formed by rotating the lap plate 1 and the load block 5 having a diameter corresponding to 1/3 of a radius of the lap plate 1 while slurry is being fed on the lap plate 1. Then, the groove formation is performed with a diameter of the load block being replaced with one of 2/3 of a radius of the lap plate in sequence. Thereby, a desired concave volume can be made in a short period of time.
