Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide an automatic accomodation for an axial displacement in a super finishing machine for a ultra finishing of the inner surface of the concave by a method wherein a grinder holder is inserted into the pass-through hold formed in a main body of the grinder holding device and pivotally supported therein, then the grinder is inclined when the grinder is fitted in the concave groove.
CONSTITUTION: Pass-through hole 2 is made in a main body of a grinder holding device, and a grinder holder 3 is fitted into the hole 2 with some clearances c and c. Thus, the grinder holder 3 is enabled to oscillate in the pass-through hole 2. Conical seats 4, 5, 7 and 8 are arranged at the main body 1 and the grinder holder 3 with being faced with each other and set on a pivotal axis L to engage balls 6 and 9. Thus, even if an arcular center M of the concave groove 12 in the workpiece W is displaced from a center line N' of the grinder wheel S, the grinder wheel S is inclined around the pivotal line L, the center line N' is moved up to N and passed through the arcular center M. In this way, even if an axial displacement is found, it is automatically accomodated.
