Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the back-flow of a drain through drain discharging pipings by a method wherein the drain discharging pipings are connected to down stream sides of steam valves arranged for a steam turbine in a plurality of serieses and nonreturn valves are provided at the respective pipings.
CONSTITUTION: Main steam valves 1a, 1b are provided in steam systems 6a, 6b of a plurality of serieses and drain pipings 4a, 4b, connected to a drain collecting tube 5 provided with a drain stop valve 3, are provided at downstream sides of the valves. Nonreturn valves 2a, 2b are provided at positions near the main steam valves 1a, 1b as close as possible with each other. When totally closed tests of the main steam valves 1a, 1b are performed one by one in order to confirm operations thereof, a pressure difference is caused between outlet pressures of the main steam valves 1a, 1b, that means inlet pressures on the drain pipings 4a, 4b, however, drain will never flow back into the main steam valves due to existing of the nonreturn valves 2a, 2b, accordingly, cracks will never be produced in valve casings and the pipings.
