Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent reduction of a oil pressure for bearings and reduction of a suction pressure of a shaft pump by a method wherein a suction pump and a turning gear oil pump are started when a number of revolution of a steam turbine is reduced to a value lower than a predetermined value.
CONSTITUTION: A shaft pump 3 activates a suction pump 6 by signals from a pressure switch 13 for detecting reduction of a suction pressure and a tachometer 2 for detecting a reduction of a number of revolution of a steam turbine 1 and secures the suction pressure of the shaft pump 3. A turning gear oil pump 8 is also activated by signals from a pressure switch 14 for detecting reduction of a discharging pressure of the shaft pump 3, a pressure switch 16 for detecting reduction of an oil pressure in turbine bearings 100 and the tachometer 2 for detecting reduction of the number of revolution. Thus, even when the number of revolution of the steam turbine is reduced, the reduction of the oil pressure in the bearings and the reduction of the suction pressure of the suction pump are prevented and damages of the bearings due to scratching and/or overheating as well as cavitation of the shaft pump can be prevented.
