Abstract

PURPOSE: To start and warm up the engine favorably, by a method wherein a carburetor is integrally provided with mixture and air control valves being operated by a temperature detector.
CONSTITUTION: A starting air passage 4 and a starting fuel passage 15 are arranged in parallel with a suction passage having a throttle valve 1 therein. At the lower portion of the passages 4 and 15, a mixture control valve 9 and an air control valve 10 are provided integrally to a temperature detector 6, and open both the passages when the temperature is below a predetermined level. An air regulator valve 20 is provided in the upper portion of the air passage 4, and moves a diaphragm 21 leftward when the suction negative-pressure on the downstream side of the throttle valve 1 is higher than a predetermined value, thereby opening itself. By the actions of the valve 20, the amount of bleed air introduced into the fuel passage 15 is regulated. The fuel is fed into the passage 15 through a float chamber 3, a starter jet 13 and an emulsion tube 14.
