Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an appropriate air-fuel ratio at the time of idling operation of an engine, by providing an actuator controlled by a controller respectively at an air bleed hole and a throttle valve of a variable venturi type carburetor.
CONSTITUTION: An air-bleed controlling port 210, opening and closing of which is controlled by a first actuator 300, is communicated to a main jet 207 of a variable venturi type carburetor 200, and opening and closing of a throttle valve 204 is controlled by a second actuator 500. Output signals from an engine-speed sensor 602 and a temperature sensor 601 are given to a controller 600, which controls operation of the two actuators 300, 500 in response to the output signals of sensors 601, 602. With such an arrangement, an optimal idling operation of engine can be obtained by decreasing the opening of air bleed hole 210 with throttle valve 204 being opened slightly at the time of idling operation when the engine speed and the engine temperature are lower than predetermined level.
