Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent overloading of engine and to make an efficient use of engine output, by converting a part of work torque into hydraulic pressure, transmitting it to a regulator for a pump in running system, and thereby controlling the pump input torque in response to the load change in the working system.
CONSTITUTION: When a pump working system is set into operation while a running system is in also working, a pilot pressure Pa produced through operation of a constant-displacement pump 18 and a constant-displacement motor 23 is acted in a rod chamber of a control valve 27 for controlling the forward-driving input torque in a regulator 11. This pilot pressure Pa is proportional to the load in a working system whereas the input torque of a pump 4 is inversely proportional to variation in the pilot pressure Pa. That is, the regulator 11 has a function to lower and to input torque of pump 4 when the pilot pressure Pa is raised and to increase the torque of pump 4 when pilot pressure Pa is is lowered. With such an arrangement, it is enabled to prevent overloading of the engine 1 and to make an efficient utilization of the engine output.
