Abstract

PURPOSE: To achieve substantially thin copies by applying calendering to the recording papers after implementing transcription and heat-fixing.
CONSTITUTION: Copying machine 15 is provided with a calendering devcice 11. Either crown-roll type or cross-pressing calender is available as calender. When said cross-pressing calender is being used, cross angle is set to be 0.3W3°, with the linear pressure is ≥30kg/cm2. For the recording papers 13, medium thick papers each having high rigidity and 80W90μ thickness are used, so that no jamming takes place in the passage 14. For example, when such paper having 85μ thickness is calendered at cross angle 1.2° with the linear pressure at 40kg/cm2, the thickness of said paper turns out to be 60μ. Thus, such thin recording papers can be produced at low cost without requiring any particular mechanism to avoid the jamming, and thus very thin copies are yielded.
