Abstract
PURPOSE: The suspension polymerization of vinyl chloride monomer or a mixture thereof is conducted in an aqueous medium in the presence of a specific cyclic azine compound to produce particles of vinyl chloride polymer with remarkable roughness on the surface.
CONSTITUTION: In the polymerization of vinyl chlorode, a suspension stabilizer such as saponified polyvinyl alcohol or polyvinyl acetate, a polymerization initiator such as lauroyl peroxide are used and 0.001 W several ppm of cyclic azine compound such as pyrazine, thiazine or oxazine are added to produce the objective polymer.
EFFECT: The surface of vinyl chloride polymer particles is improved to increase the rate of plasticizer absorption on fabrication, keep the uniform dispersion of processing aids and improve the gelling property.
