Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the classification and accomodation capacity of a collator which classifies and collects the copied paper discharged from a copier by performing control flow with a central control unit.
CONSTITUTION: When the number of copying volumes X and that of copying pages Y are input to the central control unit of a copier, each is stored in Register X or Y. When a collator is connected, the number of bottles A and that of bottles to be accomodated B are stored in Registers a and b, respectively. Then the maximum number n that satisfies an exprssion of A≥nX is obtained. When all the copies (XY sheets) can be accomodated in the collator, they are all discharged to the collator. If only L volumes in X volumes are fully accomodated in the collator, the initial L sheets in the X copies of each manuscript are discharged to the collator and the remainder X- L sheets are discharged to a paper exhaust tray.
