Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the deterioration of ion exchange membrane caused by chlorine gas generated in the anode room, by providing the anode room formed by cation exchange membrane which is obtained by introducing cation exchange radical into flororesin and anode, with the electrodialysis apparatus.
CONSTITUTION: The anode room 5 composed of the anode 1 and the fluororesin base cation exchange membrane 50, is formed. The concentration room 8 composed of the membrane 50 and the normal anion exchange membrane 3, is formed next to the room 5 and moreover, the desalting room 7 composed of the membrane 3 and the normal cation exchange membrane 4, is formed toward the cathode room 6 and then, the rooms 7 and 8 are formed by arranging alternately and successively. On occasion of using aqueous solution containing salt or other chlorides as the anode solution passed through the room 5, the membrane 50 composed of the room 5, is chemically stable and deterioration or breakage is not generated even if chlorine gas is generated in the room 5 and the deterioration or breakage of the whole membrane by the invasion of the chlorine gas in the room 8, can be prevented.
