Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:A (2'-5')polyadenylic acid compound of formula I [the group of formula II is a residue of the group of formula III; NB is o-nitro-4- and/or 5-substituted or unsubstituted benzyl; n is 0W2], or its salt.
USE: An intermediate for the synthesis of 5'-triphosphoryladenylyl-(2'-5')-adenylyl- (2'-5')adenosine which is a protein-synthesis inhibiting material.
PROCESS: The objective compound of formula I is prepared by (1) condensing N6- acyl or substituted or unsubstituted trityl-3'-O[o-nitro-4- and/or 5-substituted or unsubstituted benzyl]adenosine-monophosphate by reacting with a condensing agent (2) hydrolyzing the condensation product to eliminate the N6-acyl group or the N6- trityl group, and if nexessary, (3) converting the free acid thus obtained to a salt.
