Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an adhesive for a corrugated board without deteriorating the adhesion in a high temperature and wet state, by incorporating a specific amount of a water-soluble ketone resin into a corn starch with an amylose content of specific value or above as a main constituent.
CONSTITUTION: An adhesive prepared by incorporating (B) 1W15wt%, based on a constituent (A), a water-soluble ketone resin, e.g. precondensate of acetone-formaldehyde resin, into (A) a corn starch with an amylose content ≥40%, e.g. high- amylose corn starch, as the main constituent. A thermoplastic resin, e.g. SBR, if necessary added improves the paper layer peeling state of the bonded surface and imparts the flexibility to the bonding layer.
EFFECT: The increase in amount of caustic soda required for gelatinizing constituent (A) improves the adhesion imparting effect of the constituent (B).
USE: A special corrugated board for distributing a hot and humid food.
